In a world where technology is ubiquitous and constantly evolving with developments like AI, it's natural to wonder how to best approach technology with our children.
As Montessori educators with over 25 years of combined experience working with children (and 6 children between us), Simone and Junnifa will guide you through tailored suggestions for each stage of development from 0 to 18 years.
Technology should be approached differently at each developmental stage:
- Early years (0-6): How to limit screens effectively.
- Elementary age (6-12): How to use technology as a tool for creation.
- Adolescence (12-18): How to help adolescents become safe and responsible technology users, preparing them for adult life.
Importantly, we will also explore a variety of other activities and practices to incorporate into your children's lives, aiming to raise capable individuals with creative minds and compassionate hearts.
What we'll cover in the workshop
Applying Montessori wisdom, you will learn to understand your child's needs and how to manage technology in your home including:
- How technology can look at each stage of development from 0 to 18 years
- Learning to make agreements with your children about technology and holding them to the agreements
- How your children will be able to manage in a world of technology
- What your children need to reach their full potential (in addition to technology)
- And how to manage situations like when they nag us that their friends are allowed more tech time in their homes
